Good governance and the requirements of its application in the Egyptian universities Analytical study

The concern about the governance concept has increased through the last years, it is one of the important concepts that emerged in the end of 80_th of the twentieth century, that the world bank declared the Corporate Governance which has been known as the Companies Governance. The Egyptian universities face various problems as the great centralization in decision making, the absence of the academic freedom, the confusion in decision making, the weakness in its organized legislations, also the absence of questioning and the elimination of corruption, which lead to the low performance of the Egyptian universities.                                                                
      That has been reflected on the classification of the Egyptian universities to be included in the list of the best universities around the world, so there is an important need to re- investigate the way of governing the Egyptian universities and study the requirements of its application, and that is what the current study is trying to make research about                        .                                                                                                                                          
Questions of the Study:
1- What is the intellectual background of the governance concept?
2- what is the conceptual framework of the governance as it is identified in the world organizations and some literatures?                                         
3- what is the conceptual framework of the universities governance.
4- what are the requirements of achieving the good governance in the Egyptian universities in the light of the problems that they face?
 
Methodology of the Study:
     The current study used the analytical descriptive methodology to analyses the concept of the universities governance generally, and the Egyptian universities governance specifically.
 
The study ended in that the requirements of achieving the concept of the good governance in the Egyptian universities are the following:
1- Eliminating the culture of governance.
2- Modifying the rules and regulations that govern the universities.
3- Considering the academic freedom and questioning of universities as the most  important scientific criteria of the university life.
4- Overcoming the corruption in the university life.
