Self Esteem and its Relation to Social Interaction and Academic Compatibility Among Students of Public and Non-Governmental Universities in Khartoum State

This scientific paper based on scientific research aimed at identifying the self-esteem level, social interaction and academic adjustment among the student in governmental and nongovernmental universities at Khartoum state. The study also aimed at investigating the relation between self-esteem and social interaction, and self-esteem and academic adjustment among those student ,then knowing the differences in self-esteem level with the social interaction in connection to gender , type of collage and type of university ,beside discover the differences between self-esteem and academic adjustment in connection to gender, type of collage and type of university .The method of research used was the descriptive approach in which a sample included(598) students(female and male) selected by stratified random sampling and  applied self-esteem for  Rosenberg scale ,social interaction  scale prepared by researcher and  study  compatibility study scale. the  results were utilizing statistic  methods ,Pearson  correlation  coefficient , one  sample test , two  samples test, one way analysis of variance, cronbach's alpha coefficient and mathematical averages. The study had the following results:
  1. The overall level of self-esteem among the students in universities in Khartoum   is high.
  2. There are statistically significant differences in self-esteem level among the students in universities in Khartoum state based on the types of college in favor of the non-government universities.
  3. There are no statistically significant differences in (social   interaction level and study compatibility level) among the students in universities in Khartoum state based in favor on the types of University.
  4. There are statistically significant differences in self-esteem level and social Interaction level   among the students in government and nongovernmental
  5.  There is statistically significant relation between social interaction and study compatibility among the students in universities in Khartoum   state.
The study came up with relevant recommendations based on the concluded results.
