Exploring the Current Utilization of Interactive Board in Teaching the Islamic Curriculum in the High School Level from the Teachers' Perspectives in the City of Riyadh

This study aimed to identify the degree to which the Islamic education teachers who teach secondary stage students use the interactive whiteboard to provide information from the Internet and motivate learners to interact with the lesson through it, and to recognize the statistical significance differences among the average of the individuals in the sample in using the interactive whiteboard based on their experience in education and age.
The study was conducted during the second semester of 1438/1439 H. The sample consisted of (145) Islamic education teachers in the secondary stage of the general administration of education in Riyadh. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive approach was used, and a three-part questionnaire was designed and reached several results. The most important of these were: study participants use interactive whiteboards to provide information from the Internet very highly. The most important of these uses are: presenting educational websites of the course and presenting videos which are related to the subject of the lesson from the Internet; and the study participants use interactive whiteboards to motivate learners to interact with the lesson very highly. One of the most important motivations is: attracting the learners' attention, and using interactive whiteboards improve the teaching method. The results showed that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) among the average of the study participants’ responses towards the degree of using the interactive whiteboard in conformity with these variables (Academic qualification, years of experience, age and training courses in integrating the interactive whiteboard in the educational environment).
Based on the findings of the study, the researcher recommends the following:
Adopting training programs that contribute to increasing the level of teachers’ knowledge of the interactive whiteboards features and developing their practical and scientific abilities in using them, providing Internet services in all classrooms, and providing a guide of how to deal with the interactive whiteboard for teachers.
