Acceptance of Using Social Media in Teaching in Kuwait

Abstract:
          The research study implements a technology acceptance model (TAM) in assessing and evaluating user perceptions towards applying social network technologies adopted in facilitating teaching activities. The purpose of the study involves analyzing the correlation between variables of TAM to determine factors affecting the acceptability of using social media platforms in teaching. Participants involved in the study comprised of 200 college alumni enrolled in the school of education in Kuwait who are responded to online questionnaires concerning the perception of using social media in teaching.
          The participants had used social media learning platforms as mediums for teaching part of the course syllabus in the 2019/2020 academic year. Study results indicate significant correlation between the actual use of social media platforms and student’s attitude and behavior intentions. Moreover, the study shows a positive correlation between the efficiency of using computers and TAM variables. Essentially experience in using technology has a positive correlation with TAM variables.
