The Importance of Training and Producing Instructional Materials on the Development of the Skills of the Pre-Service Special Education Teachers in The State of Kuwait

The purpose of this study was to determine the importance of the course of Production of Instructional Materials for the pre-service special education teachers, the importance of the course on teaching the curriculum of special education and the relationship between the course and the curriculum of special education. The study also determined the effect of variables such as, general field of specialization, specific field of specialization, general average grade of the students, the age, and the living area of the students on their responses. The descriptive analytical way was used, and the data were collected from a questionnaire that answered by 89 female students who are specialized in special education in the College of Basic Education in the State of Kuwait. The result of questionnaire showed that the course of Production of Instructional Material increased the interest of the students on instructional materials and the course was very useful for them. In addition, the students agreed that the instructional materials that they were trained on could be utilized in teaching the curriculum of special education and it should be special room for using instructional material in every school of special education. The results also showed that there is significant differences at the (0.05) between the means of the student’s responses on the importance of the course to the students relating to the factors of specific field of specialization and the age of the students, but there was not differences on the factors of general field of specialization, general average grade, and the area of living of the students.
The results also showed that there is significant differences between the means of the student’s responses on the importance of the course in teaching the curriculum of special education relating to the factors of specific field of specialization and the age of the students, but there was not differences on the factors of general field of specialization, general average grade, and the area of living of the students. In addition, the results showed that there is significant differences between the means of the student’s responses to the relationship between the course of Production of Instructional Materials and the curriculum of special education related to the factors of general field of specialization, specific field of specialization, and the age of the students, whereas, there was not differences in the factors of general average grade, and the living area of the students.
